Sewer Line Trenchless No-Dig Replacement

Replace your damaged clay or cast iron sewer line without tearing up your entire yard, driveway, or concrete.

Our trenchless pipe bursting method allows us to replace your underground sewer line through small access points instead of digging a full trench across your property. We locate how the existing sewer line is ran, break the old pipe apart underground, and pull a new HDPE sewer pipe into place.

  • New HDPE sewer pipe installed
  • Great for old clay and cast iron sewer lines

What Is Trenchless Sewer Line Replacement?

Trenchless sewer line replacement is a way to replace an underground sewer main without digging one long trench from the house to the street. Instead, we use a method called pipe bursting.

With pipe bursting, small access points are made at the beginning and end of the sewer line section being replaced. A bursting head is pulled through the existing clay or cast iron sewer pipe. As it moves through the line, it breaks the old pipe apart underground while pulling a brand-new HDPE sewer pipe into the same path.

This is a true sewer line replacement, not just a patch or liner. The old damaged pipe is replaced with a new sewer pipe designed for long-term flow and durability.

How Pipe Bursting Works

1

Locate the Existing Drain Line

We first locate the existing sewer/drain line and determine how it is ran from the house to the street or connection point. This helps us understand the pipe route, depth, access points, and the best direction to pull the new pipe.

2

Access Points Are Dug

Instead of opening the entire yard, driveway, or concrete area, we dig access points near the beginning and end of the sewer line section being replaced.

3

Bursting Head Goes Through the Old Pipe

A pipe bursting head is pulled through the existing sewer line. As it travels through the old clay or cast iron pipe, it breaks the old pipe apart underground.

4

New HDPE Pipe Is Pulled In

The new HDPE sewer pipe is attached behind the bursting head. As the old pipe is broken apart, the new pipe is pulled into place through the same underground path.

5

New Connections and Cleanouts

Once the new pipe is installed, we connect it to the existing sewer system and install cleanouts as needed per code.

6

Final Check and Inspection

After installation, we check the new line, confirm proper flow, and prepare the work for inspection if required.

Why Homeowners Choose No-Dig Sewer Replacement

Less Digging

Avoids a full trench across the yard, driveway, or landscaping.

Less Concrete Removal

A great option when the sewer line runs under concrete, pavers, hardscape, or a driveway.

New HDPE Sewer Pipe

HDPE is strong, flexible, corrosion-resistant, and commonly used for trenchless sewer replacement.

Faster and Cleaner Process

In many cases, pipe bursting can reduce the mess and restoration needed compared to traditional trenching.

Great for Old Clay Pipe

Many older Southern California homes have clay sewer lines that crack, separate, or get damaged by roots.

Great for Cast Iron Sewer Lines

Old cast iron sewer pipe can rust, scale, deteriorate, or fail over time.

When Pipe Bursting Is a Good Option

Pipe bursting may be a good fit when your sewer line is damaged but the existing pipe path can still be used for replacement.

  • Old clay sewer pipe
  • Old cast iron sewer pipe
  • Root intrusion
  • Repeated sewer backups
  • Cracked sewer line
  • Offset or separated pipe joints
  • Sewer line under a driveway
  • Sewer line under pavers or landscaping
  • Long sewer run from the house to the street
  • Sewer line needs full replacement instead of another temporary repair

Is Trenchless Sewer Replacement Always Possible?

Not every sewer line qualifies for pipe bursting. That is why we first locate the existing drain line and determine how the pipe is ran. We look at the route, depth, access points, pipe direction, and site conditions before recommending trenchless replacement.

If the line has major grade issues, heavy collapse, difficult access, utility conflicts, or cannot be safely pulled through, traditional excavation or another repair method may be the better option.

We will explain the condition of your line, show you the best options, and give you a clear recommendation before starting any work.

Southern California Trenchless Sewer Replacement

Many homes throughout Southern California still have old clay or cast iron sewer lines. Over time, these pipes can crack, shift, separate, rust, or allow roots to grow into the line. When that happens, homeowners often deal with repeated backups, slow drains, sewage smells, or expensive spot repairs that do not solve the real issue.
