Repipe Specialists in
Huntington Beach, CA

Huntington Beach — Surf City USA — is a premier coastal community with homes ranging from 1950s beach bungalows to large planned communities built in the 1980s–2000s. The city's beach proximity creates one of the most challenging environments for residential plumbing in Southern California. Salt air, ocean humidity, and Orange County's hard water combine to accelerate pipe corrosion and shorthen the lifespan of copper and galvanized systems significantly.

Homes within 3 miles of the Huntington Beach coastline experience significantly accelerated pipe corrosion. If your home was built before 2000 and you're near the water, your pipes are at high risk.

Why Huntington Beach Homes Need Attention

Trusted Home Repiping in Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach homeowners near the coast often see pinhole leaks develop in copper pipes 10–15 years earlier than their inland counterparts. Many neighborhoods built in the 1970s–90s — including Huntington Harbour and the Bolsa Chica area — now have copper systems showing widespread failure. The combination of coastal environmental stress and aging materials makes Huntington Beach one of the most active repipe markets in Orange County.

Don't wait for a catastrophic failure in your HB home. One burst pipe near the coast can cause tens of thousands in damage. A repipe is the permanent fix.

Type M, Type L, and Type K copper pipes comparison

The Type M Copper Problem in Orange County

From the 1970s through the 2000s, most homes in Orange County were built using Type M copper — the builder-grade, budget minimum allowed by California code. Type M has the thinnest wall of any copper pipe grade.

In Orange County's hard water conditions, mineral deposits aggressively attack the inside of Type M pipes. The thin walls deteriorate faster than Type L or Type K — often within 20–30 years rather than 40–50. Pinhole leaks, slab leaks, and sudden burst pipes are the most common failures.

Type K Copper
Wall Thickness: Thickest
Industrial / Commercial
Type L Copper
Wall Thickness: Medium
Premium Residential (what we install)
Type M Copper
Wall Thickness: Thinnest
Builder-Grade Residential (most OC / IE homes)

When we repipe your Huntington Beach home, we replace all Type M copper with either PEX-A (our primary recommendation) or Type L copper — never Type M.
